Regarding his state-related background, Mario’s expertise as well as his contributions to public discussions on fishing and aquaculture were recognized to such extent, that he participated as member of the National Fishing Council, a position he held between 2014 and 2018; this appointment was made by the President of the Republic with further approval of the Senate. Mario is regular member of the Jack mackerel Management Committee in Chile (2019 – Currently), and also a member of the Chilean working group for the SPRFMO, representing the private sector.
