Data collected by Latin Lawyer’s Deal Tracker shows that Mattos Filho’s partners dominated M&A dealmaking in Latin America in 2025, with the firm’s lawyers appearing repeatedly among the most active dealmakers by transaction volume.
Lawyers are listed based on the positions they held in 2025, so end-of-year promotions have not been accounted for.


Francisco Guzmán of Chilean Elite firm Carey and Matias Zegers of Highly Recommended outfit DLA Piper (Chile) shared the top spot among Chile’s most active partners in 2025, each having advised on nine transactions. Partners from Carey and local Highly Recommended outfit Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría (Chile) shared second spot, with six deals each.

Among associates, Carey’s Andrés Latorre stood out on his own at the top of the table, having worked on eight deals throughout the year. Four lawyers then tied for second place: José Ignacio Marín of DLA Piper (Chile), PPU’s Juan Pablo Zegers, Tomás Herlin of Highly Recommended firm CMS Carey & Allende and Victoria Herrera of fellow Highly Recommended outfit Cuatrecasas (Chile), with six transactions under their belt, respectively.

Highly Recommended firm Martínez Quintero Mendoza González Laguado & De La Rosa and Elite outfit Posse Herrera Ruiz partners dominated Colombia’s M&A partner rankings in 2025. Felipe Aristizábal of Martínez Quintero led the table with eight transactions, ahead of colleague Dario Laguado and Posse Herrera Ruiz’s Jaime Cubillos, who tied for second place with six deals apiece.



Mauricio Olaya of Highly Recommended firm Muñiz, Olaya, Meléndez, Castro, Ono & Herrera claimed the top spot among Peruvian partners in 2025, having advised on 16 transactions. Oscar Trelles and Rafael Boisset from the local offices of Highly Recommended firms Cuatrecasas and Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría, respectively, tied for second with nine deals each.
At associate level, Javier García of Elite firm Miranda & Amado took the top spot, having worked on eight deals. Gustavo López of Muñiz featured in second place with seven transactions.
