Mauricio Patiño
Partner at PPU expert in Intellectual Property/Life Sciences, Competition, TMT and Dispute Resolution. His practice includes assisting with the preparation of availability searches and preparing, filing, prosecuting, and monitoring trademark and patent applications. He also handles trademark and patent litigation proceedings such as the filing and defense of oppositions and cancellation actions, administrative, civil, and criminal litigation, as well as trademarks issues related to unfair competition. Mauricio has advised several Colombian and international clients in cross-border intellectual property issues. He also leads the practice in dealings with the sanitary authorities as well as litigation resulting from procedures before said authorities.

Felipe Cuberos
Partner at PPU expert in corporate and contractual matters, and commercial proceedings (arbitration and insolvency). He has advised local and international clients structuring and implementing new businesses, joint ventures, corporate matters, commercial contracts, corporate reorganizations and foreign investments. In the last years, he has advised various corporate and M&A deals, having actively participated in the international expansion plans of clients such as Empresas Lipigas, SBA Torres and Synlab Group, among others. He has broad experience in dispute resolutions related to complex distribution transactions and corporate matters, and he is an arbitrator before the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota, and the arbitration court of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris.

Member of the Dispute Resolution team. Her professional practice focuses on representing clients in complex disputes before judges and arbitral tribunals. She has experience in investment arbitration and international dispute resolution in construction, entertainment and energy matters.
Sebastián Basombrío
PPU partner of the Dispute Resolution team. His professional practice focuses on judicial and arbitration conflicts related to commercial, contracts, energy or infrastructure dispute. His practices focus on complex national and international disputes. He has advised clients from different sectors such as energy, infrastructure and finance and has been involved in several successful high-profile negotiations. He has a Master’s Degree at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and also is a registered arbitrator in the Lima Chamber of Commerce and the United States Chamber of Commerce. He currently teaches Civil Procedural Law at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC).
Juan Sebastián Arias
Partner at PPU, expert in Dispute Resolution, international arbitration, national arbitration, and litigation before national courts. Admitted to practice in Colombia and the State of New York. Juan Sebastián is an arbitrator at the Arbitration and Conciliation Center of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (“CCB”). His professional practice focuses on representing clients in national arbitration, international arbitration, and litigation before national courts. He has participated in international commercial arbitrations under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”), the CCB, the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, the London Court of International Arbitration (“LCIA”), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (“ICDR”), and in investment arbitrations under the ICSID and UNCITRAL rules. He has extensive experience in national arbitrations administered under the CCB rules. He is recognized by Who’s Who Legal and Global Arbitration Review as a Future Leader in Arbitration in Colombia and by Legal 500 as a Rising Star in Litigation and Arbitration. In 2024, he was chosen as Rising Star of the Year in Arbitration.
