Member of the Water Law team. Her professional practice focuses on advising important mining and natural resource companies in environmental assessment procedures and management of water resources. Francisca currently advises on projects undergoing environmental assessment, as well as in the creation of preventive and compliance-fostering strategies. She has taken part in compliance check-ups regarding regulatory standards of closure plans for mining sites and in compliance programs filed with the Chilean environmental regulator. All of the above while carrying out research for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) regarding citizens’ and native peoples’ participation in Latin American regulation. She was co-editor of environmental law journals and assistant to Fondap research projects “Solar Energy Research Center (SERC- Chile)” and Fondecyt’s “Reconfiguring hydrosocial territories, disclosing socially constructed scarcities”. Before joining our team, Francisca worked as an associate at Chilean law firm EELAW and at University of Chile as assistant professor in courses of Criminal Law and research assistant at the Environmental Law Center at Universidad de Chile.
