PPU counsels Anglo American Quellaveco on water use licence for project

Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría Peru has counselled Anglo American Quellaveco in the process before the National Water Authority’s National Water Disputes Resolution Tribunal (TNRCH), which confirmed the legality of the operating water use licence for the Quellaveco project, one of the country’s main copper producers.

The investment value of the project amounts to US$5.5 billion. Quellaveco’s investment is more than three times that of Mina Justa (US$1.8 billion) and more than four times that of the Toromocho expansion (US$1.335 billion), two projects that started operations last year.

PPU’s team was led by partner Julian Li (pictured), with support from senior associate Sandra Bravo.
