Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría Colombia has represented Vela Software in the acquisition of Samtech, a South American technology company that provides innovative asset management solutions to the mining, construction, cement and fleet rental sectors.
This transaction closed on 3 April and involved the jurisdictions of Chile and Colombia. Other participating firms were Carey, as advisor to Vela Software in Chile, and Dalgarrando & Cia. as advisor to Samtech in Chile.
Vela Industries Group, with its strategic focus, plans to distribute Samtech’s products worldwide to the mining industry, complementing its existing dispatching solutions.
Samtech’s fleet management system enables comprehensive monitoring and traceability of heavy, light and auxiliary vehicles, scalable from small fleets to large organisations with thousands of assets. It deploys a comprehensive management suite that combines operational, logistical and administrative data, enabling customised business process rules to support decision making and continuous improvement.
