Peru’s MOAR hires Camposol VP as partner moves to PPU

Highly Recommended firm Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría (Peru) has hired a public law partner from local boutique MOAR Abogados, which has recruited a transactional in-house counsel from agribusiness Camposol to its partnership.

Valeria Milla joined PPU’s Lima office on 16 July as director and head of its public law practice. She joins alongside associates Joaquín Pantoja and Rodrigo Solís.

Milla joins PPU after more than two years as a partner at MOAR, where she advised on public law, economic regulation and competition matters. She spent more than nine years at the boutique overall, having joined as an associate in 2017. Before that, she worked at Highly Recommended firm Santivañez Abogados.

In her new role, Milla will lead PPU’s public law practice, succeeding the previous head, Ronald Fernández Dávila.

PPU Peru country manager Rafael Boisset says Milla’s arrival strengthens a practice that is “key to the economic development we expect to see in our country over the coming decade”, adding that PPU is confident she will “quickly integrate into the firm”.

PPU last added to its team in November, when it hired two partners from Rubio Leguía Normand to its natural resources group.

Latin Lawyer contacted MOAR for comment on Villa’s departure.
